Flowcite – a German-based service providing an all-in-one platform for academic research, writing, editing, and publishing –partners up with Brooklyn-based scite.ai to offer quick source evaluation for its users to ensure quality, improve the relevance of results, and thus save time on research.
scite is an award-winning platform used to discover and evaluate scientific articles via Smart Citations –a technology that allows users to see how a scientific paper has previously been cited by providing context around the citation and a report detailing whether it provides supporting or contrasting evidence for the cited claim. Using scite enables authors, editors, and peer-reviewers to ensure that their references are reliable in a quick and effective way. Founded in 2018, scite has received wide recognition from the global academic community and has partnered with leading organizations and publishers including Cambridge University Press, Karger, and SAGE Publishing.
The integration of scite’s Smart Citations within Flowcite, will help users evaluate search results within the Flowcite Knowledge Library, which contains over 250 million sources. Sources with a digital object identifier (DOI) will now show how many times a source has been cited and the types of citations it has received, including if it has been supported or contrasted by other published research. By clicking the Smart Citation badge you can open a scite report for each paper anytime and read a full analysis of the paper’s citation score.
“We’re very happy to have our Smart Citations integrated into Flowcite. Flowcite is an innovative tool that offers researchers and students many beneficial features to help them do their work more efficiently and effectively. We think that our data further enhances this and are happy that it is now live in Flowcite. ” – says Josh Nicholson, co-founder and CEO, scite
“At Flowcite we aim to offer our users every possible opportunity to make their research easier and faster than ever before by incorporating only the best and most trusted services. Integrating scite is an effective way to achieve this. I am delighted that Flowcite users can now optimize their research process through on-the-fly evaluation of source quality by scite. Combined with other Flowcite services for research, such as the reference manager, collaborative text editor, and automated article summarizer, I’m positive scite will make an easy all-in-one ecosystem for working on every step of your paper: from information search and evaluation to editing and publishing” – Guillaume Grust, Founder and Managing Director at Flowcite.
